National Director of Operations, Residential Eating Disorder
Jen Gorman, MC
Jennifer Gorman is the Vice President of the Residential Eating Disorder Consortium (RED-C) and has been an eating disorder specialist since 1991. Jennifer Gorman is the Director of Operations at Center For Discovery, where she has been fortunate to work since 2002. Jen has specialized in eating disorders for over twenty-five years as a clinician, supervisor, and operations leader. She lives in Southern California with her husband and 12-year-old son.
Jen first joined Center For Discovery as the Program Director of our Lakewood facility, later opening and directing our program in Whittier, California. During her tenure at these programs she invested heavily in the training and development of program staff and in building a positive company culture. Many of Discovery’s current leaders were mentored during that time and have become regional and national leaders in the field of Eating Disorders treatment, both at Center For Discovery and in the greater treatment community.
Jen’s passion for contributing to the field of eating disorders treatment and prevention is informed by her personal struggle with anorexia and bulimia, during the 1980s, a time when there were very few treatment resources available. She is a living example of the importance of authenticity, vulnerability and perseverance in recovery. Jen is passionate about training all of Center For Discovery’s clinicians to constantly improve the quality of treatment that is delivered and to be experts at communicating with insurance companies, so that our clients are able to receive the life-saving care that they need.
